IDW Comic's Shredder Brought to Life by Loyal Subjects

The Loyal Subjects, in collaboration with Mateus Santolouco, present their latest figure for collectors: the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles BST AXN Shredder IDW Comic Wave 1 5-Inch Action Figure.

Drawing inspiration directly from the TMNT IDW comics, this Shredder figure bears the distinctive artistic touch of Mateus Santolouco. The figure's meticulous sculpting is evident from the texturized weave pattern on Shredder's attire to the shimmer of his metal accents and the well-defined muscular build. The metallic armor, steel claws, and imposing horned helmet showcase an impressive physical depth.

However, while the sculpting offers intricate details, the figure's finish, especially on the cape, outfit, and helmet, could benefit from a richer texture and more intricate shading to fully complement the depth of its sculpture. With the lack of detailed paint finish, I really hope it doesn't end up looking flat like raw plastic or have that unfinished 3D-printed vibe in person.

One of the figure's standout features is its impressive 31 points of articulation, allowing for a multitude of dynamic poses. The 1:15 scale, 6-inch figure comes with a variety of accessories: a katana sword, two sickles, multiple hand grips, and two distinct head portraits. These portraits, with their captivating expressions and eye deco, breathe life into the figure.

Every Shredder also includes a signature TLS collectors' card, showcasing unique and stunning artwork.

The packaging also hasn't been forgotten about, with a redesigned window box, graced with artwork exclusively provided by Mateus Santolouco for The Loyal Subjects. It's an added touch that collectors will undoubtedly appreciate.

Priced at an accessible $21.99, the Shredder figure offers remarkable value, especially considering the plethora of accessories it comes with. As mentioned, while the figure showcases intricate sculpting, it would have been enhanced with a more nuanced paint finish.  However, given the price point, such omissions are understandable.
